MSC Cruises launched their Status Match programme in 2015, creating history as the first such programme in the cruise industry, having launched in the wake of MSC Cruises loyalty programme, MSC Voyagers Club.

The ‘Status Match’ programme is aimed at future MSC cruise guests who already participate in other leading travel reward programmes, allowing them to receive similar benefits when they join the MSC Cruises Voyagers Club. Guests that sign up through ‘Status Match’ will automatically acquire a similar or higher MSC Voyager’s Club membership status, as well as a guaranteed 5% discount on any cruise booking.

‘Status Match’ is not limited to just cruise reward programmes but includes other travel reward clubs, such as hotel and tour operators, a great benefit for frequent travellers new to cruising.

Now heading into its eighth year of operation, Lisa Teiotu, Managing Director, MSC Cruises Australia & New Zealand said, “The Status Match programme is yet another way in which MSC Cruises strives to provide guests and future cruisers the distinctive service our company is known for and allows them to experience similar, or even better, benefits than they are used to receiving when travelling”

“The range of privileges extended to MSC Voyagers Club members includes, among others, complimentary one-hour thermal area session, birthday cake, gift and onboard discounts. In addition, guests that book more than 6-months in advance will get an extra 5% discount and for guests that book more than 12-months in advance will get an extra 5% discount, plus + double points.” she said.

Joining the MSC Voyagers Club is free of charge and is MSC Cruises way of saying thank you to loyal guests, sharing MSC Cruises passion of discovery.

There are five membership levels ranging from Welcome, Classic, Silver, Gold and Diamond.

MSC Voyagers Club points are earned according to the on-board experience that guests opt for when sailing with MSC Cruises: Bella, Fantastica, Aurea or MSC Yacht Club. In addition, prepaid onboard services and onboard expenses will earn additional points.  Points are credited at the end of the cruise, approximately ten days after the disembarkation date.
