Australian-owned July luggage has announced its expansion into Aotearoa today. To celebrate the eCommerce launch, the brand is also offering free personalisation on all orders for a limited time.

“We started July with the mission to create better products to lift people’s travel experience,” said co-founder Athan Didaskalou. “We are coming to Aotearoa to simply give our kiwi customers another option – with better features, unique personalisation options and an Australian approach to travel.”

July launched in 2019 after frequent travellers and founders Athan Didaskalou and Richard Li had seen a category that was selling poorly designed products at extreme premiums and wanted to fix it. The duo read thousands of online reviews to find out the key pain points and desires in luggage and after a year of planning, designing, and testing, launched a singular product, the July Carry On. The case features an ejectable battery to charge phones and laptops, SilentMove® 360 spinner wheels, an unbreakable 100% German polycarbonate shell and a lifetime warranty. Since launch, the range has expanded to include multiple suitcases and accessories, all designed from the ground up in Melbourne.

“We have a great affinity for our friends across the Tasman Sea and are really excited to bring July over here, with all the features we’re known and loved for back home – great products, lifetime warranties and free shipping,” continued Didaskalou.

The launch in Aotearoa is not the brand’s first international expansion, having opened an eCommerce store in the USA in mid-2021. In the USA, July is well known for its Carry On Light, the world’s lightest double-wheel carry-on suitcase, which weighs just 1.8kg.

July luggage is regularly seen on the arms of personalities like Harry Styles, Chrissy Teigen and Celeste Barber and was the official luggage partner of the Olympics and Commonwealth Games. The brand has four retail stores across Melbourne and Sydney.
