TravelManagers, an Australian-based company offering personal travel management services, has reported record sales in February 2023, with a further 29% increase on the already record-breaking figures in January. Despite having fewer personal travel managers (PTMs) than before the pandemic, the company saw a 77% increase in total sales volume compared to February 2019, with PTMs’ average commissions increasing by over 81%.

The growth is attributed to several trends, including more customers taking longer holidays and spending more on their land arrangements. Long-haul travel sales have also increased, with a 71% growth in sales for Europe in February 2023 compared to February 2019. Additionally, high-value domestic bookings have contributed to the stellar results, with a 51% increase in sales for Australia over the same period.

Michael Gazal, Executive General Manager, believes that the results reflect a strong growth trend across the entire travel industry. “These are sales results that we would not have dreamed about pre-Covid, and they reflect a strong growth trend across the entire industry. A widespread acceptance of service fees indicates that our customers appreciate the expertise and experience of our PTMs more than ever: combined with their ability to earn up to 95 percent of at source commissions, it’s an exciting time to be in travel,” he said.

PTMs have also confirmed that business has never been busier and expressed positivity due to the strong start to 2023.
