Today, Thredbo Resort announced that it will be opening for skiing and snowboarding from tomorrow, Tuesday 20 June.

Thredbo Brand & Marketing Manager Richie Carroll said that he can’t wait for skiers and snowboarders to hit the slopes tomorrow.

“The entire Thredbo team has been working day and night to get the mountain ready and now that mother nature is playing ball, it’s go time! The forecast just keeps getting better so we’re very excited for a massive winter season ahead, ” said Mr Carroll.

Blizzard conditions across Sunday and Monday brought fresh snow all the way down to the village, and mother nature isn’t showing any signs of slowing down yet.

Subzero temperatures on Sunday night created ideal snowmaking conditions, allowing 147 snow guns to fire from 4pm through to 6am on Monday morning.

On Tuesday, the Cruiser and Gunbarrel Chairlifts will be open to skiers and snowboarders, providing access to Walkabout in the Cruiser Area.

Experts are forecasting freezing temperatures and another 40cm of snow over the next week.
