Swan Hellenic, a vanguard in the realm of cultural expedition cruising, presents the globe on a silver platter – from the icy landscapes of the Arctic and Antarctic to the tropical jewels of the Bijagós Archipelago and Brazil, the verdant fjords of Norway, and the quaint allure of Nova Scotia. They have become the go-to cruise line for intrepid travellers spanning generations, looking to delve deep into unexplored terrains led by renowned experts, scientists, and seasoned explorers.

In 2024, the company’s boutique expedition ships – the SH Vega and the slightly larger SH Diana – will take passengers on journeys ranging from 8-day glimpses into new worlds to staggering 21-night semi-circumnavigation voyages. The exploration doesn’t end with landfall; exclusive exploration opportunities on each ship amplify it.

Commencing the year, SH Vega will explore the Antarctic Peninsula, departing from Ushuaia. Come early March, and she will veer westward on an extraordinary 21-day South Atlantic Semi-Circumnavigation journey, touching down at remote locations like Gough Island and Tristan de Cunha before concluding at Cape Town, South Africa. From there, many other adventures beckons, from West Africa to Lisbon, Portugal, the Atlantic seaboard to Honfleur, France, and onward to the Celtic discovery voyages of Cornwall, Ireland, Wales and Scotland.

The more prominent SH Diana, equipped with tender boats and expedition zodiacs, will be in Antarctica until late February. From there, she will turn north into the Chilean Fjords and traverse the entire West Coast of South and Central America to La Paz, Mexico. In late May, she sails to Greenland for her Arctic Season. By July, she’ll leave Tromsø, Norway, for an expedition down the Atlantic Seaboard and into the Mediterranean. This journey culminates in exploring the rich cultures and heritage of the Seychelles, Madagascar, and South Africa.

With a smorgasbord of bucket list attractions to choose from, there are many standout cruises like “In Shackleton’s Footsteps” on SH Diana, which retraces historical events in Antarctica, and “Pristine Islands of West Africa” on SH Vega, which unlocks the stunning Bijagós Archipelago, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Furthermore, the “Unspoilt Wilds of Southwest Africa” on SH Vega promises an encounter with the extraordinary wildlife of the Loango National Park in Gabon and Conkouati-Douli National Park in the Republic of the Congo, which are untouched by other cruise companies.
