The annual list of 2023’s Top 25 Restaurants in Bangkok has been unveiled in a grand culinary spectacle, sparking intrigue and excitement in gastronomy. This selection, eagerly awaited by local food enthusiasts and international gourmets, spotlights the Thai capital’s gastronomic delights, reaffirming Bangkok as an illustrious global dining destination.

The Restaurant Rating Index (RRI), a sophisticated tool combining artificial intelligence and expert judgement, meticulously curated the list. BEFORE ARRIVING AT A DEFINITIVE RANKING, the RRI considers many factors, including food quality, ambience, value for money, social media presence, and online footprint.

Topping the list, Sorn enthralled the critics with its Southern Thai seafood fare, masterfully prepared by chef Supaksorn ‘Ice’ Jongsiri, earning it the coveted position of Bangkok’s best fine dining experience.

Sharing the honour of the second position were Chef’s Table and Mezzaluna, two gems nestled within lebua, the world’s premier vertical luxury destination. Chef’s Table enchants patrons with French cuisine, while Mezzaluna offers an experiential European dining experience.

Savelberg and Côte by Mauro Colagreco were closely following, securing third and fourth positions with their exceptional French fine dining experiences.

Adding diversity to the list were ten new entries, ranging from JukSunChae, the city’s first Korean fine dining restaurant, Maison Dunand, spearheaded by Michelin-starred chef Arnaud Dunand, to Wang Hinghoi, which offers deconstructed Thai cuisine amidst a mesmerising firefly show.

The grand unveiling at the esteemed La Scala, The Sukhothai Bangkok, was a vibrant tableau of anticipation and triumph as chefs awaited the announcement with bated breath. Their dedication and hard work were acknowledged with cheers, smiles, and prestigious trophies presented by Mr Boonserm Khunkaew, Deputy Director-General, Department of Tourism in the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand.

Bernard Metzger, Founder of the TOP25 Restaurants Guide series, voiced his admiration for Bangkok’s finest culinary establishments, praising their ability to serve high-quality and tantalising food consistently. He further invited everyone – from patrons to industry stakeholders and visitors – to celebrate the winners’ achievements, be inspired by their accomplishments, and support all eateries in Bangkok.
