From May 9-21, visitors and locals alike will have the opportunity to experience a wide range of events, concerts, tours, classes, family-friendly programs and more.

New York City’s economic recovery continued in 2022, with over 56 million travellers arriving in the City, marking the return of 85% of the City’s record 2019 visitation levels. In New York City, cultural travellers historically account for more than half of visitors, making It’s Time for Culture an essential program for visitors and residents to experience.

A sampling of participants includes the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts, Coney Island USA, Brooklyn Children’s Museum, Mark Morris Dance Group, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Dance Parade, New York Live Arts, Museum of the City of New York, National Museum of the American Indian, Apollo Theater, Harlem One Stop, American Kennel Club Museum of the Dog, Louis Armstrong House Museum, New York Hall of Science, National Lighthouse Museum, among many others.

In addition to It’s Time for Culture, several other cultural events are happening across New York City this spring, including Friday Nights at the Whitney, Spring Uncorked at the New York Botanical Garden, Date Night at The Met, and The Great Lighthouse Hunt. These events offer unique experiences for visitors and locals alike and provide a taste of the vibrant cultural scene that New York City has to offer.

Friday Nights at the Whitney is an opportunity to enjoy the museum’s exhibitions, drinks at the Studio Bar, and sunset views on the terraces. Spring Uncorked offers a wine lover’s weekend at the New York Botanical Garden, featuring wineries from the Hudson Valley, Brooklyn and Long Island. Date Night at The Met offers live music, drinks and 5,000 years of art.
