Murray River WalkSouth Australia’s magnificent Murray River region is bouncing back from last summer’s catastrophic flood thanks to an initiative by the South Australian Tourism Commission. Australians residing in South Australia, New South Wales, and Victoria are being called upon to rally together and support the Riverland region, which suffered extensive damage during the unprecedented Murray River flood.

The devastating floodwaters wreaked havoc on 4,000 hectares of agricultural land, resulting in over 3,000 homes being submerged and numerous tourism operators forced to suspend their operations for an extended period. The South Australian Tourism Commission has launched the Riverland Recovery Vouchers program to revitalise the region, inviting Australians to explore this breathtaking destination and provide much-needed economic assistance to local tourism providers.

Following the success of the initial round of vouchers introduced in March, a second round is being released to infuse millions of dollars into the flood-affected communities. Over 250,000 coupons are expected to be distributed, offering lucky recipients the chance to win a $750 voucher for unforgettable houseboat experiences or guided tours. Moreover, participants also have the opportunity to win an all-expenses-paid holiday to South Australia’s picturesque river regions. Additional prizes include $100 and $200 accommodation vouchers and $100 experience vouchers.

The Riverland Recovery Vouchers highlight the exceptional offerings of the region’s operators and experiences, showcasing what the Riverland offers. Participants can revel in the tranquillity and beauty of the River Murray by embarking on a memorable journey with renowned River Murray Houseboats. For those seeking an immersive experience, kayaking with local experts Jim and Ruth promises an unforgettable adventure. Alternatively, individuals can opt for the Four Knots Murray River Cruises, where they can unwind and soak in the scenic splendour while cruising along the majestic river.

To seize this incredible opportunity, interested individuals can enter the ballot starting June 19th through the official website of the South Australia Tourism Commission’s voucher program: https://southaustralia.com/voucher. By participating, Aussies have a chance to win these coveted vouchers and contribute to the revitalization of the Riverland region, assisting local businesses and communities in their recovery efforts.

Let us join forces and rise for our river! Together, we can make a difference, rejuvenate a treasured destination, and create lasting memories along the banks of the Murray River.
